review A Long Walk to Wimbledon 103 A Long Walk to WimbledonThis is one of those books that I found extremely hard to follow for no obvious reason So from my limited understanding the book is something similar to Dorothy in the land of Oz Except Dorothy is now grown up is a male Kansas has moved to London and dreamy context of Oz has now turned apocalypse or something like that The protagonist tries to visit his ex wife before she dies and on his way meets pletora of characters that somehow remind me of those that accompany Dorothy on her little excursion I might be totally on the wrong track here but what can I do

review A Long Walk to Wimbledon 103 A Long Walk to WimbledonA strange little novel part post apocalyptic survival story part London guide book and part moral warningThe plot never fully grabbed me although some parts did echo The Odyssey But even if it wasn't the most absorbing tale something about it made me want to read to the end to see if Mark completed his journey from Highgate to Wimbledon

review A Long Walk to Wimbledon 103 A Long Walk to WimbledonYes as many people stated there isn't much of a plot It is an adventure story of a man crossing London after it was destroyed by many riots and other unnamed atrocities He encounters many obstacles and meets various strange people all within the ruins of a somewhat abandoned London At times depressing but this is a story of survival and the human spirit I think Keating did a good job in pulling this off Life whirling mad and uncertain it was but it was not wholly to be rejected is his state of mind after enduring many horrors A positive message in a bleak storyThere is a lot of introspection here as the narrator moves between episodes He is constantly uestioning things and this reinforces the sense of rea

review A Long Walk to Wimbledon 103 A Long Walk to WimbledonA most unusual but interesting piece of writing Makes one wonder what the writer's mind was at when he wrote this bookHard to explain really and at times I was getting rather bothered by the unnecessary amount of descriptions and excessive use of words and paragraphs but I perseveredThe ending was a bit of a surprise I had imagined two possibilities and one was correct and uite bland Nevertheless I persevered through this novel albeit listening to it because I sort of had to Hard to explainIt is rather a nonsensical piece of literature but one I would recommend if you want something differentEnjoy

review A Long Walk to Wimbledon 103 A Long Walk to WimbledonI almost stopped reading until about the third or fourth chapter because the sentence structures in the first part of the book were so difficult But something seemed to shake loose about a third of the way and the book became suddenly readable It's about a man's journey through a post apocalyptic London to see his dying ex wife The cause of the apocalypse is not really made clear and the incidents along the way aren't that eventful yet still I found the book compelling I would have liked to see of the south London I know which is why I started reading the book in the first place This is classified as science fiction according to Wiki but there is nothing here to call science fiction; it's about as science fiction as JG Ballard's drought or
