SUMMARY ↠ Hats Off to Mr Pockles Hats Off to Mr PocklesI read this book to my niece last week and she absolutely loved it She always asks for me to “use an accent” during storytime Mr Pockles was narrated by Stewie Griffin The illustrations in this book are crazy vivid and I love the lesson here if you have lots of neat things—just like Mr Pockles and his incredible hat collection—then why not share with others Mr Pockles is one dapper doxie who can’t imagine even leaving the house without a hat But then he meets Lady Coco Fitz Tulip a panda who was running late for Hat Day Then things go awry when two bunnies eat the fruit in her ancestral hat What’s a panda to do Well there’s a certain

SUMMARY ↠ Hats Off to Mr Pockles Hats Off to Mr PocklesI love so many things about this book The savoring and sacrificing of a special hat the end of exclusiveness and hints of historical relevancy But I take issue with the idea that Mr Pockles gets friends and included because he shared his hat It reminds me of the desperate kid who brings something expensive to school just so that they can get included They often lose their expensive thing and their dignity Why couldn't a panda have noticed Mr Pockles hat and acknowledged his genius and sought his advice leading to inclusiveness
