This Much Country review È 3 This Much CountryIt doesn't take a long review to say what needs to be said about this book It's what I've been waiting for after reading endless books on this remarkable stretch of land What it says about the people who live there The depth of feeling it brings out in them an appreciation of this planet that doesn't happen in cities The extraordinary skies and the mountains stretching up to them The wealth and variety of wildlife The unprompted helpfulness of neighbors in times of need even from strangers An especially for me the unbelievable bond between the people and their sled dogs That really got to me

This Much Country review È 3 This Much CountryWhat a great read what a wonderful life story what a celebration of dogs and specifically sled dogs Kristin’s beautiful descriptive writing makes you feel all the beauty of the northern wilderness the light the cold the fear and the magic of dogs While I have mushed only five days in the Yukon and currently own one Husky in a warmer climate I wish so much I could experience this magic on a deeper level Thanks for sharing this great life story

This Much Country review È 3 This Much CountryI loved this because I lived and worked in Alaska in the mid 80's The author is apparently telling her story about her life there Her writing is not always the best but she has a great story and her personal work to run the Iditarod is a large part of her story I found that part compelling because she has recorded in great detail the years it took to accomplish that It's hard to imagine if you haven't experienced it how difficult it is to live in the Interior
